Such a beautiful reflection on time and place. As someone who has lived in the same unwalkable town for 20 years, I get what you mean. It’s different when there’s kids, because the walk around the neighborhood is like a great adventure!

I must say, there is a certain allure of downtown toronto having so many things in walking distance. But i also dislike it greatly.

Lol definitely have felt disdain for downtowns too, always tradeoffs — I think I’m trying to pin down what feels like “balance” but realizing it’s less of a checklist and more intuition

i just wish the city didnt butcher all the trees. no tree in the areas i frequent in downtown have low hanging branches. none! what’s a man to hang on then and do chin ups and monkey around for his fun and good health??
