Thanks for this comment Afra! It's almost counterintuitive to be aware of the inner and outer while we're communicating with others, but conversations really do involve both

This is a fun metaphor and a good essay. Making space for conversation is a learned skill. Learning to hold your thoughts and judgements and just listen fully is something I aspire to do, especially for my little kids. I think the force field gets weaker the more kids you have.
