Ha, sounds a lot like my experience with Java in high school. I found it inscrutable and it scared me away from programming until I circled back after college.

This is so true. Love this metaphor. There is so much we miss or misunderstand with surface level knowledge. It does take some sweat to find the real gems below.

Wow I loved this reflection! It’s funny how we can be in school to “learn” but can end up being our own teachers. Learning to dig in and teach yourself is a powerful skill. Great reflection!
